Silver Jewellery Course – Beginners

This four-week silver jewellery course, held on Tuesday evenings in April 2024 from 6.15pm to 8.30pm is suitable for complete beginners or anyone wishing to refresh their skills from complete scratch.

During the four weeks you will learn the following techniques on a variety of pieces:

Measuring

Cutting

Filing and sanding

Texturing and stamping

Soldering

Finishing and polishing

You will be starting with a simple hammered ring in the first week and progress on to a cut piece (pendant, keyring or earrings) and thereafter a piece to be discussed with you all (eg stone setting, a chain or a bangle, but this can be mutually agreed upon).  You will be given the freedom to bring your own ideas to the table, or I can provide you with myriad ideas and examples of my own to help you along with the design process.

The cost of the course is £150 for four weeks. (Silver used on projects will be charged at cost price.) Book your place with a £25 deposit (see Ts&Cs for terms) and pay the balance two weeks before the start of the course when you will receive an email with joining instructions.  Only FIVE places in total available.
